Current projects

  • Toilets Smart, to get access to a clean and fresh toilets

 

To avoid smell, injuries (size of the hole), insects(mosquitos, cockroaches, flies and many more).

To improve sanitary conditions of the community.

Henry, one of the active member of the association is in charge of the experimentation.

  • Chicken farm

​

Develop another way to product sustainably.

Established poultry farming with about 250 birds targeting both indigenous and Kuroiler.

By improving the way of raising chicken, Vincent Atitwa is experimenting a farm. Maximizing means of production to  improved income for local families and nutrition.

Sugar cane and sweet corn (main plantation in the community)With the impoverishment of soil and the actual economy,  the production of are having a hard time.

  • Farmers training

​

Teaching in best farming practices in relation to climate change and food security/nutrition and promotion of high value crops. As perma culture for example.

​

  • Trees nursery

​

Establishing  in several farms and then distributed to community  members -  Growing and planting trees for community forestry -increasing  the population to serve as carbon sink.

Three to six month is the time that the plants take before we plant them in the grown. 

​

  • Developing the library at the primary school

​

Finance an employee to be able to open the library during week-ends to have a real access for the entire community.

Create a system where people could borrow books in the community.

To get a real access to computer. Because right now the school has the computers but don’t use them because of the hard installation (every time that computers are taking out, they need to be return in a safe place). That means to enforce the security in the library.

​

  • Building the library for the secondary school

​

Second challenge, is to built another library for older student at the secondary school.

With different books level and hopefully computer access as well.

The construction should start in April 2020.

​

  • Micro loans

​

Micro Loans -Supporting community members through training them in business skills and provision of small loans of about  US$ 150.

​

  • Give access to a better way of mobility : Bicycle

​

We are still acting for an access to bicycles for the community.

More poor families, orphans, farmers … are struggling with long hours walking: To go school, to charge the harvest of the season, get fresh  water from the rivers to drink, shower and cook.
